To show how rusty the bike is, here are the pegs.I used Naval jelly and steel wool before i painted them. The whole bike is about as bad.I have lots of work ahead.

Painted the tank.I dont know how it turn out this way except that it just happened.

Hillbilly paint booth. It was a calm day thank god.

Ok so i did not put the motor in first. It is at the speed shop getting new seals and a baking powder wash with the carbs and wont be back for a couple weeks. Also the new tires should be here soon.
So i go to the local Honda dealer to get new tubes in my tires and i look up and there is this helmet.I say how much and the guy says the price.I think about it for 2 seconds and said i will take it.Then all heck breaks loose because the helmet was given to them as a promotion item by FULMER and the boss was on vacation so the salesmen were not for sure it was really for sale. After a bunch of discussion they said they would sell it.
I got it off the ground.
Just thought i would show my 750.
Ok back to the 550 re-build.Here are three things that have come in real handy.
The manual,a black enamel paint marker for those scratches that i get when trying to put things on like that $%^&*(spring loaded kickstand, and the best of all this metal polish. It does what it says.I polished and polished with no luck and then i found this and with one sparing coat[Half the volume of a sweet pea does a whole wheel} and a hand done wipe off it cleans and takes streaks out of chrome, aluminum, and other metals. That tube you see will last for years.
Rained today so i put some clear coat on the paint.Yep thats is my drying room .The exhaust fan works great. You got to love the Hillbilly way.
Put the brakes, and a few things on while i am waiting for the power plant to get back.
Time to do some wiring.
Ok since this is for my sons and their better halfs and as a store hopper for me i put the rack and sissy bar back on.
Put a Memphis Shade on it.Not much room on the throttle side but it finally fit.
Put the motor and carbs on.
Put the tank, side covers and 4 into 1 exaust on and rode it around the block
Got a new helmet from here for the bike. Old School Helmets - HOME
